I mean, really, if someone can come up with this -
They should be able to come up with something that releases a ball when a dog hits the contact in agility. That would make training contacts easy for a ball obsessed dog. Dog hits the contact, ball launches. Dog doesn't hit the contact, ball doesn't launch. How cool is that?? Well apparently someone DID invent that, but they haven't marketed it. They just made it for themselves and their own dog. I only heard about it from Lo Baker, of BARK camp. I want one of those!!!!
**To all you non-agility people, the contact zone is the area in yellow at the bottom of the dog walk or A-frame. The dog must have at least ONE toe in there to qualify. It is a safety issue to keep dogs from launching off the obstacle and possibly injuring themselves.

Only trouble is it would not work for Roscoe. He could care less about a ball. I seem to be able to tighten up his understanding that he MUST hit the contact area with Amanda Shyne's "show me it" method. But, Spur would clearly understand when he was rewarded and when not with this type of contraption. Rube Goldberg, here we come!!!!
