Where's George?

This is how Spur looks when we first spot George and say "Where's George?".

Then when he finally locks eyes on George, this is how he looks? Strange body language, ears back/flat, but he does it every time! And George is his best friend!

Got in that damn plane again!

Yikes, the valium helps, but I don't think it will ever be a comfortable experience. It sure was an AMAZING day! Nantucket is quite the place. I don't feel the love for it that Rich does, but he has many childhood memories to boost his feelings. I find it a little generic, the houses and roads are all the same, the little towns look so similar. Downtown looks like a fancier Old Port. It is beautiful, but the money and gluttony is sometimes a bit overwhelming. We went with some very good friends and they loved it and that made it all SO worth it.

Of course, I seem to only take photos of the dogs! LOL!!

We thought we would see what the house looked like at the top of the stairs from the beach. There are a lot of these such stairs. Hah, got to the top and they released the hounds!!! :O

 

Dogs are allowed on the beaches!!! :D

And this dumb chick lets her lab just run into our camp. Good thing we liked dogs, but it did irritate me. Too many cases like this and dogs won't be allowed.

Not sure what happened to my other photos, but we did go have a nice lunch and in town for some people watching and shopping. It was a very nice day! Flight was uneventful and I was very brave. Oh and drugged.

I finally braved it with the help of some valium and took the trip to Bar Harbor in the plane. Really amazing!! Flying over the coast of Maine is something to behold. Such a beautiful place!! So many islands and harbors. Just incredible. And Bar Harbor has some incredibly beautiful hiking spots.

OK, so now it is letting me stumble along one at a time. Such a pain! We visited the Thula gardens in Northeast Harbor. Amazing gardens! Tons of hummingbirds, but there were lots of other people there who kept scaring them off while I was trying to photograph them. Sigh.

 Then we headed into Bar Harbor for ice cream. Great way to end the day!

More dog walk work!

Hahahaha, he is having SO much fun. Watch him just take off for the tunnel without me. I guess I am just an after thought. :D Still working out his new footwork, even trying for a 2, 2, 2 pattern. He can't do that, but hey worth a try!



I think the hummers are on their way. I still see a couple here and there, but today is the day I fill the feeders (been doing it every other day) and there isn't much gone. Darn. I thought with this new warm air coming in they might hang around a little longer, but I guess not.

Damn, it has been a whole week? (whoops, just saw this never published! Odd)

Where did the time go? More in-laws. More activities, more, more, more. August is the busiest month!!! And the weather has been spectacular, so we are out ENJOYING it!!!

Colby seems to have gone through another stage of blindness. This morning we lost her on the farm. Finally found her, she has wandered into the tall grass and had no idea how to get out. POOR THING, it just broke my heart. We scooped her up and rescued her.

The other day I found her a big, green grasshopper to eat. She used to hunt them daily and ate many this time of year. I put it right in front of her and she could smell it and caught it! She was very proud!

Ready for tons of hummingbird photos! I put out another feeder and they are everywhere!! I am worried soon they will head south. Next week they are saying warmer weather here, but right now we get some very cool nights and I am always happy to see the hummers up and about the next day.

The cooper's hawks can't kill the hummingbirds, they are too fast, so they tend to coexist. Hummers will often nest near cooper's hawks.

I love them in their natural habitat!

Trial report!

Spur ran great! So happy and fast! Still just under 5 yps in jumpers at 4.98, but that's fast enough for me! He was THIRD fastest of ALL dogs in T2B!! Then entered weave pole one and then just ran with me. Hard to see on video. He did that at Regionals, too. Odd.

Did his new footwork on the DW. 2, 3, 2 and was barely in, but that's OK, he was in! :D Many dogs missed that contact set up.

He REALLY likes the new planks!

I just love how he takes off all by himself to start again! Such a happy boy, I wish I had changed the planks earlier now!
